2017 Mission U Hands-On Project: Children’s Christmas Shoeboxes for Red Bird Mission

Mission U’s 2017 Hands-on project is donating Christmas Shoeboxes to Red Bird Mission in southeastern Kentucky. It is one of the three national institutions we are learning about in our Mission U geographic study this year! These shoeboxes will be distributed to children in need.
Suggestions for your shoebox:
- Use a clear “shoebox” size container (PLEASE DO NOT WRAP THE CONTAINER)
- Bring only completed boxes – we will not be assembling them at Mission U
- Label the shoebox for BOY or GIRL
- Identify age group (2-4) (5-9) (10-14)
- Please use age-appropriate items
- Include 2-3 toy items (ex: jump ropes, card games, balls, stuffed toys, Legos, crafts, yo-yos, etc…)
- Include 2-3 School Items (ex: pencils, crayons, markers, coloring/activity books, calculators, scissors, rulers, erasers, etc…)
- Other items to consider adding: children’s toothbrushes, washcloths, hair brushes, combs, chap stick, nail grooming kits, Christian Bookmark, wristbands, flash lights (with batteries), mittens/gloves, hats, or other small spiritual items
